2017 F-350 DRW 0-60 testing

My only question would be why? People buy dually trucks to work and haul, not for the drag strip. I don't think 1 second quicker to 60 would sway any buyers from one brand to another.

You guys don't find it impressive that a truck of that size can go from 0-60 in almost 8 seconds flat. 10 years ago that was unheard of unless you had some serious mods. Now, I completely realize that for real-world driving this isn't necessary but this kind of performance sure does make towing a heavy trailer pretty easy.

Not only impressive, but amazing. Think about what's being done today.

Take an empty one gallon milk jug. Fill it with diesel fuel. Today's diesel engines can use that one gallon of fuel and pull over 25,000 lbs. of truck, camper, and people about ten miles. All that with the A/C pumping cold air.

When you think about it, we're getting close to dilithium crystals pushing the Enterprise past the speed of light.

That's definitely impressive! The Ram will certainly be slower because the inline 6 will not build RPM's as quickly but I'll bet the Duramax gives it a run for it's money.

8 sec flat 0-60 is impressive! Wow.
This means a lightly equipped EC/SB truck might be running 6 sec 0-60s!

AND the new trucks do not blow black (no particulates) smoke and do not spray NOx. I love it this way!

If you want the old days, though, just wait. The EPA will outlaw pollution controls soon enough. At least for the 48 states. CA and NY will never allow it again.

It's still a measure of performance that is quantifiable. If you are not interested in the data just don't read the post. For those that spend a significant amount of time city driving and merging from short on ramps this is an indication how enjoyable that experience may be.
