Anyone know the difference between an F-250 and F-350? The tow ratings are pretty much exactly the same? Any important differences in the build quality?

Built on the same assembly line. Same basic parts.

Big difference is the payload.Ford Superduty PayloadsFord Superduty Towing

The 350 is supposed to have a stronger suspension and the payload and tow ratings are higher. Considering what you will pay for one of these the small extra amount to get a 350 vs a 250 makes good sense. They both handle and feel the same.

Physically there isn't much difference. But the story is in the payload like a lot of other said.

Yea, no kidding!!! Have fun on your trip! We leave in under 6 weeks for Florida ourselves. We can't do the whole winter, unfortunately, so only 2.5 weeks.

Hope you have a great time with the new truck. This will be the first LONG trip in our new diesel truck, so I hope the extra cost is worthwhile!

Update: WeatherTech floor liners arrived today, and I "installed" them! My CB fits perfectly on top of my floor liner, but under the flip down cupholder, I just need some velcro to affix it more permanently in that spot!

We are just about fully loaded and ready for our first trip to FL tomorrow!! A few more things to add in the AM, and we will be off for our first trip with our new truck!!

I can access a lot of my stuff, via my flip up windows in my cap (love those, they will prove quite handy!)!! Still learning the best spot for each of my bins, and stuff I have in the back of the truck, but this is a learning trip!

Ken, you're clearly can't be bothered to research for yourself. The trucks have been proven, by anyone who has taken the time to check, to be the same. Apparently you're more concerned about the sticker on the ruler than the actual length and anyone with eyes and a computer can verify that every part is identical other than the emblems and the door jamb sticker.

Aside from all that, the OP has made their decision and is happy with their purchase...

It all boils down to payload capacity.

The F250 is the lowest, the F350 has more payload capacity and the DRW has more payload capacity.

Look at the Ford towing guide and you will see the numbers.

As for the believers of the F250 and the F350 are the same...well, it you go to the store to buy a ruler, they have 12" rulers, and they have yard sticks (36") rulers. You need to measure 18", wouldn't it be better to get a yard stick and measure it instead of using a 12" ruler and shifting it for 6" more.

I got the original BedRug. I didn't want the harder material, which I assume is what the BedTred is, but I didn't look too hard at it.

Yes, bench seating, but the middle seat back goes down, and there are 2 cupholders and a lift up space for goodies, plus a small indentation for a phone. Then when you push the seat back up DW can snuggle closer, which she likes;)

Nice cap, I like it! Did you get the original bedrug or the new BedTred rug? I'm really leaning towards the BedTred rug, but want to hear real opinions about it.
