KOA
Wow, one night at a KOA in Sioux Falls, South Dakota was $60, guess this is the last KOA I will stay at! Stayed in a nice campground near Mt. Rushmore for $40. :(

Seriously though, a trip to a tax free state, with gas at 10% less than neighboring states, by the time you add it up, an overpriced campground really isn't a deal breaker. Now if we are talking about ocean area campgrounds, it can be a bit shocking, but it beats paying 3x as much for a nearby hotel.
This is a bit off topic but.....there is one bargain on the Delaware coast....Delaware seashore state park.....very inexpensive...not much in amenities other than full hookups, bathhouses and laundry...but walking distance to the beach!
Hey, you need to lower your voice.......... no need to let everybody know :) We spent four days there earlier this month. What a great place to enjoy the beach. A five minute walk to the water, and $5 a night more than our State Parks here in PA. Two interesting observations. first, at least half the rigs had PA tags. Second, if that place doesn't suit you, the new park down in West Ocean City is only 2-1/2 times the cost, at $125/night, LOL
