You will severely limit yourself and miss out on a lot of good camping locations if you must have full hookups. Many state and federal parks only have electric or sometimes water and electric.COE ( Army Corps of Engineer) campgrounds have many lakeside campgrounds. As to seeing pictures of campsites,go to campgroundphotos.com. While they don't have all campgrounds, they do have some in each state that will show you individual campsite.Usually state and federal campgrounds have more privacy between sites while commercial campgrounds try to pack as many campers in as possible.
Maybe I didn't word something right. Once we get our dish set-up, we will be fine going to campgrounds that just have water and electric. But, we are almost at the end of this season, so for our few trips out before winter hits, we want to stay at a few places that have everything. We are new to this, so we need a little warming up session and getting used to everything before we let loose.
Hope that makes sense.
