Hey guys. We now have two trailers in the family so that everyone can go away together. We are on Long Island and looking at the Lake George RV Park. The family consists of 12 people. Our retired parents in mid 60's. My sister and her hubby about 41 with a girl 9 and two boys 4 and 2. Then it's my brother and his wife about 40 with two boys 5 and 3. Everything I have seen and read about this place has been positive. About the only negative comments I have seen are about it being expensive but $70 a night doesn't bother me. I do have some questions though.We'd be looking to go next July or August. If we book early enough is it possible to get two sites next to each other? Any approximate size of the sites or do they vary? Are the sites out in the open or shaded? Paved or not? Do you suggest any particular sites or locations in the park for one reason or another? How are the roads leading up there from Long Island? Hills? Twisty? We have two trailers so we have the two TV's and would need a third vehicle just for passengers. Can you have two cars at a site or is there somewhere they need to park? Is there a parking fee?Thanks!

This is a great RV park. Have been there many times, with my kids, & now my grandkids. You have many questions. The roads to get to LGRV are ok. Get to NYTW & then the Northway. Lots of things to do for big & little people. You can go online & look at a map of the campgroung. We have stayed at site 281 with a 34 foot FW. Site is level & in the shade, close to all in the park. Call them with any questions I have not given you & they will help you. Have a good time! :)

We love this park. Try to get sites near one of the play grounds and bring bikes for everyone. There is a shuttle through the park, we watched a free movie in the theatre one night, swam and did bike rides around the park.

Will be there next week. Have been there many times before. Wonderful park and a great staff. I think it is the fact that it is family owned and operated is a big plus. They say they don't guarantee specific sites, but will try to accommodate. There is a variety of sites, but they will try to match the site to your rig. I would call to be assured you get two sites together - soon, for that time of year.

Been there many times. They start taking reservations for next year on Oct.1 We always go with a large group and have always been able to get sites together(we call on Oct 1 to ensure this). We like the 400 loop. These sites are shaded, private and near the entertainment building, movie theater, laundry, snack bar and pools. The park is very large and we like being able to walk to these buildings and not needing to rely on the trolley or drive. Have a great time. You'll love it!!

Have you guys ridden the bike paths? It seems there are a bunch of bike trails in the park and they all appear to be paved. It also seems there is a larger trail directly outside the park. Is this paved and where does it go? Is it an easy ride?

What is a good place to stop while traveling up there from Long Island? Just a place to stretch your legs and break up the trip a bit.

If you heading up next year, check to see if The NEW Moose Hillock is open The same family that runs the NH Moose Hillock is hoping to have this resort campground open!

There is an Enterprise in Queensbury, NY, which is just south of Lake George. They have picked us up at LGRVP a number of times.

Not to steal the thread but I'm thinking of bringing the family up to LG later this summer but we don't toad so I was wondering if there is a place near Lake George RV Resort to rent a car so we can drive around the area and Canada. :B

I'm the original poster. We were planning to go in the summer of 2014 but we might try to head up this August. We'll have to see what happens. Any more comments on this park? Is the 400 section the best to get for us?

Well, my brother and his family just booked a week at one of our favorite local CG's. My parents were luckily able to book there for the same week too but they have to checkin the following day. This place literally sells out for the week in one second once registration begins. It's crazy.

My brother wanted to make that priority #1 next summer, and now that that is done we can look into the LGRV park. I'm heading to my parents today and my brother might stop by too so I'll run everything by them.

LGRP is a great park, and for any of you who like to catch fish they have some Good charter boats that run all summer and they catch some slammer lake trout and some small mouth bass in the 5-6 pound range, It is a blast if any of you have young kids and like to see them reel up a big fish from 110 fow,this lake is for you. We have spent a lot of time camping in Lake George NY. We have never camped at the RV Park but friends of ours do so every year. It is expensive but they have a lot going on. My biggest complaint is the small size of the sites and the closeness of them. The sites are big enough for any size rig, but don't expect to spread out too much.

That said, I believe it's the best option for you and your family. You will enjoy it.

We are at LGRVP right now. First time here in the "off" season. Strange to see so few other campers. It has given us a chance to get a better picture of the site layouts - without rigs on them. The entire place is wonderful as I have stated before. As to not being on the lake - trust me, you don't want to be on the lake. It is a great place to visit, but there is more than enough to do at the campground. Also, in the summer, the Glens Falls transit authority trolley picks up at the park to take folks to Lake George Village, (Reasonable fee).
It is raining today, and I was surprised to hear a leaf blower running. They are actually blowing the leaves and twigs off the sites that are rented for tonight. Just an example of how much these folks care for their customers.
