Well, the wife and i are starting to plan our trip from Omaha, NE, west, then up to the black hills.Want to leave mid day on friday, 26th, and get to ogallala ne, more specifically, lake mcconaughy, so my wife can see it.Anyone have any decent rv locations i can look into? google turns some up, but, just looking for opinion.Just really want to be in the area as to see a good shot of the lake, not to picky at to being water front or anything, and looking for power i don't even think that's possible.Thanks.

Last November I reserved a spot through ReservAmerica, it's not a membership, I paid a small fee to reserve it for last week 4th of July. Only 2nd time I reserved a spot. (Newbies) I got a space in lone eagle loop space 43 and I was pleasantly surprised. its a little jaunt up and down to the beach but still we had a great time with our grandsons age 5 & 13. The location is on the north side I feel is your best spot.:)

Takes a little longer as there are small towns with an occasional traffic light along the way, but IMO a much more relaxing ride.

Not on the lake, so this probably isn't going to be of any help, but we have stayed a few times at Country View Campground in Ogalalla.

Also off topic, but for your consideration, we like to get away from the speeders and truck traffic on I80 in NB by taking route 30 from Grand Island to Ogalalla. Takes a little longer as there are small towns with an occasional traffic light along the way, but IMO a much more relaxing ride.
