Lake Placid and Boston

We're looking for RV sites close to Lake Placid and close to Boston (two campgrounds, obviously lol). Suggestions? We'd prefer electricity, but not tied to it, and proximity to both locations is more important.

We're going in September if that makes a difference.

Thanks.
  • Have never heard of Buttonwood Bay in NY by Lake Placid, NY. Back to the North Pole Resort, if you have a big rig the 100 Acres side is nice, a little quieter.
  • Buttonwood Bay RV Resort just a few miles north of Lake Placid. RV sites on a lakeside property, with 2 pools, a cafe, hiking trails & a boat ramp.
  • Normandy Farms is about 25 miles from Boston and close to a commuter rail station. It's a large RV park with lots of amenities. For a more wooded experience, try Boston Minute Man in Littleton. Once again close to a commuter rail station for access to Boston.

Whatever you do, don't drive you RV into Boston.
  • North Pole is nice, So is the KOA in Wilmington
As far as Boston I have heard that Normandy Farms is really nice.
  • +1 for North Pole, we prefer the 100 Acre Woods area. It's in Wilmington, near Whiteface Mt and about 8 miles from Lake Placid. There's also a KOA there but we've never stayed at it. There are several State campgrounds nearby but they don't have any hookups.
We stayed at Cape Anne campground in Gloucester (so-so) and took the train to Boston. Last summer we did a night at Boston Minuteman on our way to Maine and we'd stay there again if we wanted to do the area.
  • For Lake Placid I always stay at the North Pole Resort, great campground and great family that owns the campground.
  • While you are waiting do a search in the RV Parks section for the two locations.
