Lake Placid and Bangor
Early to mid-October trip planned and looking at camp grounds. Any suggestions???

- you should call ahead about campgrounds, lot of them close in early to mid oct.
- We've also stayed at the Lake Placid/Whiteface KOA and really enjoyed it. Good location and a lot of amenities.
http://koa.com/campgrounds/lake-placid/ - We did stay in the KOA and loved it! Very wooded (but they do have sites for bigger rigs - you may have to circle around carefully to get into some of them). Big CG with lots to do, "toys" for rent (canoes/kayaks, etc.), and well-located for that area of the Adirondacks.
- I have read on another forum that the KOA in Lake Placid is really nice. That said, I have not stayed there. We stayed in Vermont at Shellburne Camping Area, near Burlington..
