We stayed at Lake Somerville State Park and had an entire campground loop all our own! Of course that was in mid-winter, not summer or early fall.
When we headed north from the park, we stopped in Dime Box for kolaches, just as we would do 50 years ago when we were in graduate school at A&M. Unfortunately Dime Box no longer has a Czech bakery, or much of anything else for that matter. So we missed out on a chance for fresh-baked kolaches . . . probably by a couple of decades!
