Las Vegas RV Park info

We are in the planning stages of a short trip to Vegas in October for a wedding. I have read some reviews of some places in and around Las Vegas, Oasis, Hitchin Post, Circus Circus, and just poked around a few more. Not sure if the Casinos allow overnight parking and can't get a solid answer from them. So I now tap another resource, YOU. Please give us your take on any places that you stayed. give me all the good, bad and ugly. Thanks in advance. Jeff & Karen. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !
  • We've stayed at the Thousand Trails in Las Vegas several times. A little cramped. Go slow and it's fine. It's near Sam's Town. We've enjoyed watching the private jets coming and going.

We stayed at Circus Circus two weeks ago. We've been there a few times before and knew what to expect. The place really is a dump. They said that it was recently refurbished, but it's still a dump. It reminds me of a drive-in movie: it's just a big paved lot with pedestals poking up like the speakers at the old drive-ins.

As long as you know what to expect and don't get your hopes up that it's an actual destination, then you should be OK.

The check-in process is a drag too. The girls working at the check-in desk had to call the regular Customer Service desk and wait on hold forever to verify your reservation and payment. It took almost a half hour to check in.

Oh and be prepared for the "resort fee" (city tax) wherever you stay. I think our space was about $30, but the resort fee was another $28 on top of that.
  • Arizona Charlie’s is just down the road from Thousand Trails. Didn’t stay there, but it looked okay as we walked by.
  • I guess for us, i don't ind staying away for the strip a little and most of the ones i checked out are about 5 or so miles. As far as the resort fee, the person i talked to at circus circus must not know, she said the $28 resort fee does not apply to rv's. Things that make you go HMMMMM. for the price, most likely will stay a bit further being as cheap as i am. Thaks again for the help. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !
  • Oasis is a lovely park. In the summer they accept Passport America so you can stay for half price. It is gated so you will be comfortable leaving the rig there.
  • We stayed one night at the Rio parking lot, boondocking with no issues. I don’t remember the details of their policy. We have stayed at the Oasis and found it to be a great place! Easy/cheap to get an Uber or lyft to The Strip or downtown. I would recommend upgrading to an interior lot. It isn’t much more. We walked by the Circus Circus rv lot and it looked scary. Too many reports of issues there for us to feel safe. But everyone has their own comfort levels.
  • well i believe we have made our decision, we will not be staying at any rv parks in or around the Vegas area. Instead, since we are only going to be there a day or two, we will make he best of all of it. We will get into the area on that Friday, wedding on Saturday. we will hang out at boulder beach campground for our Friday, then go to the wedding Saturday, may stay and extra day or two before we head to Disneyland. so long story short, thanks for all the info, we will check out and do yet another place that was on our bucket list, enjoy the great outdoors and keep on keeping on! ! ! ! ! Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !
