Last Minute Camping Trip in the Sierras

Hi Guys,
I need some advice on where to camp in the Sierras for a couple of nights starting on July 1st. We are open for dispersed camping, even if it means off road. Just want to be someplace beautiful. I already checked ReserveAmerica, and some of my favorites are already booked. I have the worst luck on First Come, First Serve camp sites. We might be looking to do some fishing so any advice would be helpful. If you prefer not to divulge your favorite camping spot on a public forum please private message me, and your secret location is safe with me.
Thanks in Advance!

There are plenty of campgrounds north of Bishop, and most of them have "walk-in" sites. If you are not successful with public campgrounds and you may want to do some fishing, you can try Park Cliff RV Resort in June Lake or Silver Lake RV Resort in nearby Silver Lake.

    Good Luck!
  • Just got a mailer from a near by campground if all else fails.....its Meadow Cliff right across from the Walker River. I know, I know its a few more miles up 395 but just in case. Also, there's always Topaz Lake/Casino cg. Havefun
  • Tuff Meadows,French Camp? They are right on 395 by Tom's Place between Mammoth,Bishop. I think they have non reservable sites.
  • There is boondocking on the Volcanic Tablelands north of Bishop, and great fishing up in the Bishop Creek area. Also lots of boondocking at Deadman Summit north of Mammoth, and some good fishing nearby. Also Horton Creek BLM, north of Bishop. Good luck!
  • Thank you guys for the suggestions. We got a spot up at Twin Lakes and had a blast. Thanks Again!
