Gary makes a good point about sleeping bags. Many modern bags have their shell made out of polyester sheeting, rather than ripstop nylon. The result is a LOT more moisture is trapped by the bag, but it alows the mfr to claim a wider "comfort" range with a lighter bag. Many reviews compare it to sleeping inside a Glad bag.
Walmart has some very nice fiberfill comforters cheap. If I could figure out how to make an enclosed footwell I would ditch the bags and only use comforters.

http://www.rayjardine.com/ray-way/Quilt-Kit/index.htmI made one of Ray's quilts but instead of sewing up the foot box I used a couple straps and fast tech buckles so I could have it open in warmer conditions and use it more like a blanket. I also didn't taper the foot box area but left the quilt square. I like the quilt but sleeping on a cot made it a challenge to keep it from sliding off or leaving big air holes. I still use the quilt in the summer but once the temps start to drop I pull out the -30 square cut flannel lined heavy sleeping bag.
Thanks for all the great tips and ideas, I am taking them all in and will use them to figure my trailer out. This fall will be a big learning experiance I am sure.
