Just spent 3 days in Leavenworth Wa and the leaves were turning some awesome reds and yellows. We drove over on I-90 and 97 and then came back over Stevens Pass. Bright sunny weather with a high of over 80 on thursday. It was interesting to see the difference in the intensity of colors between the east side and west side of the pass. The east side colors were more vivid, but the eagles were out on the Skykomish river on the west side and that made up for it. We saw about 25-30 eagles between Index and Monroe. Really Awesome.
We are heading to Gatlinburg/ Pidgeon Forge region today. Spending a week there. Hopefully we see some color. Taking motorcycle and staying in a motel. They say colors are changing in higher elevations. Plenty to do otherwise.
