Leaving house with septic system over winter
A question for those who live on acreages with septic system in Cold Areas.... We are just going to move onto an acreage and am wondering if my system will freeze up. My son will be staying there...

As I stated before, this is a rare case when it does happen. If you wanted to be extra safe while away, you could find out who uses steam (and the price) to thaw out a frozen septic system in your area prior to leaving. Then you would have that number handy if something ever did happen and your houseguest gave you a call with the unpleasant news.
