Length of stay for Canadians in US - 240 days?

DW heard from a co-worker yesterday that you will be able to visit the US for up to 8 months now. Google turned up this CBC article from yesterday. Seems like the max. allowable stay is more complic...

That is incorrect. If you're over '120 days' you must fill out form 8840 to prove a closer connection to another country otherwise you'll be liable for USA taxes.
