Length of stay for Canadians in US - 240 days?

DW heard from a co-worker yesterday that you will be able to visit the US for up to 8 months now. Google turned up this CBC article from yesterday. Seems like the max. allowable stay is more complic...

Why is everyone obsessed with "becoming taxable" ??? Look up the rules under the US / Canada tax treaty. You can't fill in an 8840 without being aware of all the rules.
