Length of stay for Canadians in US - 240 days?

DW heard from a co-worker yesterday that you will be able to visit the US for up to 8 months now. Google turned up this CBC article from yesterday. Seems like the max. allowable stay is more complic...

Put it this way....
You can spend an hour reading all the fine print, getting totaly confused OR you can take five min to fill a simple form.
