Length of stay for Canadians in US - 240 days?

DW heard from a co-worker yesterday that you will be able to visit the US for up to 8 months now. Google turned up this CBC article from yesterday. Seems like the max. allowable stay is more complic...

Fulltimewanabe, someone on that link I posted asked that question. I don't recall the reply, but the accountant did address that, I believe.
