Length of stay for Canadians in US - 240 days?

DW heard from a co-worker yesterday that you will be able to visit the US for up to 8 months now. Google turned up this CBC article from yesterday. Seems like the max. allowable stay is more complic...

Perhaps you should be hiring your own tax attorney, and get your own clarifacation.
Everyone's business and finances are different and at the end of the day, taking
advise from people you don't know can get you in hot water.

Or tax accountant who is up to date on u.s. Information.
