Edit note: I should have been a bit more specific originally in my question that I posted below. What I am primarily looking for is full service big rig friendly campgrounds that are east of the Mississippi that also feature Singletrack mountain biking. From the replies below it appears that there lots of options out west but it will be a few years till we have the time to start exploring out there. ........ We live in North East Ohio and I am looking for campgrounds that are no more than a days drive away that features single track and a full service campground that will allow for a large 5th wheel. Where do you guys camp that feature Mountain Bike trails? I have camped a few times at Mohican Adventure in Ohio that features around 30 miles of excellent MTB trails. Locally we also have Findley State Park as well as West Branch state park that have good trail networks. Hopefully this spring we are going to tow the rig down to Markham Park in Ft Lauderdale to ride the trails and enjoy early spring sunshine.

Virtually anywhere you want to camp in the Sierras, California or Nevada, is a short distance (if any distance) to mountain biking. Lots of single track and jeep trails.

Everywhere ;). But for parks with amazing mountain biking onsite. Here are some:Sweetwater San Diego CaCurt Gowdy near CheyenneTapo Canyon Simi Valley CAPretty much anywhere in Mammoth Lakes CAAsheville NCMoab UtAll of the above are places where you can walk out of your RV throw your leg over the top tube and start riding from camp. There are hundreds of other places where you can do the same but with added riding on city streets to get to the trail.

There's a BLM CG right among the MTB trails north of Fruita (also called 18 road). A variety of loops from four to ten miles in length. Nothing terribly difficult. A couple of loops are challenging because of exposure. Ride right from your campsite, do a loop or two, go back for lunch, and then out for more riding.Dead Horse Point near Moab has 17 miles of singletrack, mostly easy to lower intermediate, that you can ride from your campsite. Some great views over Canyonlands.Moab has really expanded their singletrack. In the old days (5-7 years ago), most of the riding was on jeep trails. Since then, they've put in a couple hundred miles of singletrack. Between our visit in May and October, they added 25 miles of singletrack out there. We can't get out there enough -- the riding is just great. Check out this link. We usually start out on the easier trails of Klonzo, then head to the Brand Trails and Klondike Bluffs area. Just last month, we tried out the new Navajo Rock area. Since then, they've added six more miles of trails there -- something to explore next spring! There isn't any camping right at these trails, but plenty of camping in the Moab area. This is worth the drive from wherever you are. Every time I visit, I meet people from Europe who have taken a trip over here just to ride Moab. Another great riding area is around Salida, CO. Great trails right out of town -- ride your bike then park and have a meal with your favorite beverage. Check out the maps section of this link. No riding from a campsite, but easy access. There's also a loop ride on the Rainbow Trail using the Silver Lakes Road as the uphill section. One can boondock along parts of the Silver Lakes Road or camp at O'Haver Lake NFS CG.Near Bryce Canyon, camp at Red Canyon NFS CG, ride up the paved bike path and take the gravel road to the top of Thunder Mountain Trail. This singletrack is on NFS lands, so legal to ride, but it's like riding through Bryce Canyon NP. You'll end up stopping to take in the view or you'll crash since you'll be sightseeing rather than watching the trail. Several other trails in the area are rideable from Red Canyon CG. Outside of the NP boundary, the Rainbow Rim Trail on the north rim of the Grand Canyon has good views. Plenty of boondocking in the area, or stay at DeMotte NFS CG. Other places we enjoy riding: Bend OR, Telluride CO, Durango CO.For ideas on where to ride in UT, check out this page.We've ridden a lot of different places, so it's hard to keep track of where all the great trails are.

We used to ride everywhere: flatlands, hard packed sand, rolling hills and wooded trails. Just depends on your health and stamina. We didn't just go places to mountain bike. We bought them so we could bike anywhere.

If you ever make it to Alabama check on Oak Mountain State Park. They have a great campground and from those I've spoken with an awesome trail system for bikes. I no longer mtn bike due to both knees are gone but I've walked some of the trails snd they are in great shape. Check out Anniston, Alabama also they have just completed phase one of a mountain bike park and are now working on phase 2 and will start another park soon. There are several campgrounds within 20 minutes. Good luck, have fun and hit a few trails for me.

Brown County does have the best bike trails in the Indiana State park system and it is a very beautiful park as well. They do have a fantastic, large campground that could handle your rig but the sites are only 30 amp electric, no full hook-ups, no water sites. Plenty to do in the area and well worth the visit even without the hook ups.

Thanks for the additional campground info, Brown County is on our list to make it up there in 2015!

4Runnerguy --"the Monarch Crest/Silver Creek/Rainbow Trail out of Salida." is one of the coolest rides we have experienced! Spent a week in Crested Butte, some spectactular riding out there, 401 Trail, in-town trails in CB, and Monarch Crest we went twice!!!

Brown County does have the best bike trails in the Indiana State park system and it is a very beautiful park as well. Forgot about listing the Downieville Downhill. We've ridden it a couple of times. The closest thing we have here in CO is the Monarch Crest/Silver Creek/Rainbow Trail out of Salida. The biggest difference is the 10+ miles of up and down riding above 11,000'. Not much oxygen up there, but the views are stupendous. We just keep pulling over for the younger crowd - can't hope to keep the pace up that they do.

Another west coast trail worth mentioning is the Ossagon Trail in Redwoods NP. Yes, you can ride your mountain bike on this trail in the national park. You cruise through old growth redwood forests, then ride singletrack down the beach just inland from the sand dunes. Part of the loop ride is on pavement, but the experience of riding through the redwoods on singletrack is awesome.

Wisconsin has a great set of rails to trails. While not singletrack, they are fun to ride. We've ridden the Elroy-Sparta trail through the old railroad tunnels, but didn't have time to ride more. Good map of the various trails here

There's another rails to trails in South Dakota. The 100+ mile Mickelson Trail also has some interesting tunnels.

One rails to trails on our to-do list is the Hiawatha Trail in Idaho near the Montana border. Sounds like a fun ride.

Brown county state park in Indiana has some of the best bike trails you'll find east of the Mississippi. The city of Nashville (just down the road from the park) is a neat little tourist destination as well.

I'm in OH as well, and my local tracks are in East Fork State Park. There are several nice trails there.

When, not IF, you come west there are two must do rides. The Downieville Descent and the Flume Trail at Tahoe. Downieville is a top 10 kind of ride in northern California. And the Flume Trail has 50,000 riders a year as a very popular Lake Tahoe Nevada trail that is loaded with scenery overload and history of the Comstock mining era. And lots of camping in the area. The west is huge so a big fifth wheel is almost never a problem except for a few Pacifc coast old campgrounds. But, nearby is always a bigger place to camp sometimes an RV park. No excuses not to come ride the Sierras legendary mountain bike single track rides. And between Reno and Los Angeles on the eastern side of the Sierras is Mammoth that has incredible mountain bike trails. Spend some time on Google checking out the trails.

Mark..... Great list! Thanks so much. Raystown is on the schedule for spring as long as its not to wet. If your ever your up this way let me know and I can show you some of our local Cleveland trails. Loved your pictures!!

Santos will be hit in March. My buddy Ray (from Ray's Indoor MTB Park) has been making a lot of improvements there lately. Looking forward to riding them.

Rainey Day here in Atlanta, so I threw some info together

My wife and I are out of Atlanta and have visited, many mtn Bike destinations in the Southeast, we also always look for places to camp and pedal with true single-track trails!

We have tried to visit almost all the top rated trial systems in the Southeast.

First, if you have not checked out Raystown Lake (appears 275 miles away 4-5 hr drive), it is one of the hot spots in your area!
Raystown

There is a wonderful campground on the Lake, and the trail system is unbelievable, right on the lake also, great views, smooth, exciting trails! We went one fall, week after Labor day, and was a AAAA+++ trip, campground stays booked, that time of year.

Then work your way down:
6-7 Hour drive, get into Shenandoah Forest area.
Douthat St Park

7-8 hour away from you, Wilkesboro, NC:

Warrior Creek (One of the Southeast, coolest trail systems) and nice campground, we go couple times a year. Couple trail systems right on the Lake.

Lots of cool tails options, Lake Norman, camping & riding, National White Water center although no camping, a great trail system & outdoor events area, big parking lot to work out of camper during a day trip, restaurant & other activities!

First your trek all the way down to Markham Park, you will be passing a lot of other MUCH better trail options, unless you have other action going on in South Florida, the riding is just so-so.

Middle of the state (Ocala area), is Santos, campground available, one of Florida’s coolest trail systems:
