Take a look at Yellow Jacket campground. There is actaully a lot to do in this area, there are two state parks and numerous little shops to go in. As said before, developers haven't really touched it yet. This weekend is the Watermelon Festival in Chiefland, it's just a good small town festival. If you like to bike or walk, the Nature Coast trail runs from Chiefland to Cross City and Trenton. Gainesville is only about a 45 minute drive from here with Ocala about an hour. Certain parts of Old Town are rough, mainly first district. I would stay far away from Southern Comfort Campground in Dixie. Feel free to PM me, I live in Chiefland.
