Well, I must say, I think PA has some of the best state parks and we have been in many state parks in many states. For one thing, PA is a beautiful state; rolling hills, mountains, clear running streams, etc. NY is also a beautiful state, but its state parks cannot compare to PA state parks. NJ, now that is another story; not fond of many of their parks unless they are at the shore. JMHO

You may want to check out this state park in PA. I have stayed there with our rig and it was quite pleasant. They have cabins and a large lake for fishing.

The bathroom facility that was near us was also in very good condition and kept clean.

we like Tomkins Campground located at Cowanesque Lake. It is locate about 2 miles south of the New York/Pennsylvania state line off route 15. We have stayed there a couple of times. It is operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and reservations can be made through the national reservation system. Many things to do. Nice sites, some with shade. ps.. Newburgh KOA is an hour to hour and a half outside NYC.

We liked Newburgh NY KOA. you can drive to the Beacon train station and take the train into NYC.

TipTam in Jackson NJ area which is closer to LI. I know they have cabins and handles my rig which is 35ft.
