As others will likely chip in, getting a 40 foot rig with a toad to Tofino is a bit of a haul. I am sure it can be done, but it won't be fun.
You might consider leaving your rig in some of the nice places on the east coast, and driving out for a day trip, or overnight trip even.. it's a pleasant drive in a car.
I live between Courtenay and Campbell River, and walk to some very nice sites. Salmon Point RV Park is certainly spectacular, you enjoy the view out your front window.
Knowing what you are looking for in a site, and what you might like to do while camped could narrow it down some.
