We had the same question last year so we took a trip down this spring. In the Ft. Myers area we liked Cypress Woods RV Resort. In Ft. Myers Beach we liked Gulf Waters RV Resort. If you like golf, but are not ready for the PGA Senior Tour, we liked Silver Lakes RV and Golf in Naples. They have a decent 9 hole executive course on the property. They also have a sister Class A only resort adjoining to the south.
All had the things you requested and more with friendly residents.
My wife's favorite was Cypress. It is further away from the Ft. Myers action but quieter also with less traffic if you want to take a walk or bike ride.
We also visited some we did not like at all. We found, to our surprise that each RV Resort was very different. Some had a lot of permanent park models, some had a lot of 5th wheels, some did not allow either, some allowed screened room attachments, some allowed utility trailers to be kept on the lots. Some were nothing more than mobile home parks with empty lots to park an RV in.
Good Luck. There are many nice place to chose from.
