Looking for South Texas Park with activities.

I recommend going down to South Padre Island. I have vacationed down there a lot. There are several RV parks on the island. While the RV parks don't offer a lot of activities, the hotels do and they are open to everyone not just their hotel guests. You can go parasailing, banana boats, rent boogie boards and go horseback riding on the beach. You can also rent dune buggies to go to uninhabited beaches. Also, you can book tours down to Mexico to explore their market places.

There are numerous deep sea and bay fishing boats, gift shops and restaurants on the island.

Fishing is about the only thing NOT available at Tropic Winds in Harlingen. We spent a couple Winters there and enjoyed it very much.

There are lots of retirement parks in south Texas along the Rio Grande from Brownsville to Mission. Your best bet is to come on down and start moving west and stop when you see something you like. Spend a week or a few days at least and get the feel of the area and talk with residents and decide which area suits you best. There are booklets which list the hundreds of parks.

We live in Mission in the winter and there is lots to do and many activities. Almost everywhere you have golf, although we aren't golfers. There are some newer parks on the west end, Hidden Valley, RAnch, Leisure Valley Ranch, etc., where you own your own lots.
