Looking for trout in Tennessee

I have a family of five. Only two fisherman and we are looking for a place in Tennessee to go trout fishing. We’d like a place where we camp in our RV with hook ups.

I have read about Tellico River being stocked every week but don’t know any good campgrounds close to the fishing.
I have a 12 year old fisherman so I want to get him on some fish!
Thanks!
  • The Clinch River at and upstream of Clinton, TN was named best eastern trout fishing in the country a few years back. Tailwaters of Norris Dam. BUT, we have had so much rainfall this year, the river is running about as high as it gets and isn't very fun fishing at that level. KOA on the interstate is nice along with state parks when they reopen for camping (Norris Dam SP, Big Ridge SP, Caryville SP). Heres the short term release schedule from Norris: https://www.tva.com/environment/lake-levels/norris
  • Little Arrow Campground (or the KOA) in Townsend, TN....you're a few miles from the best trout waters in TN and can also easily jump over to NC for a nice day fishing trip. Tons of rivers and streams to choose from and excellent camping also.

Most of the streams are wild Brown, Rainbow and Brook trout. Only single hook, artificial bait allowed.

And Little River Outfitter in Townsend is one of the best shops around and can provide you with all the info and supplies you could ever want, great people.
  • We used to fish below the Dam regularly and the trout were nice size. The key is when it was stocked and how much water is let out of the dam. Used salmon eggs. There are two campgrounds not to far from the Dam but we have never used them since we have a cabin nearby.
