Lake Anna is a great choice. Don't let the naysayers or those with an ax to grind discourage you.. There is nothing wrong with VA state parks. They may have the best state system in the Mid Atlantic!

I don't have an ax to grind, We just don't use our state parks, I simply find that I get a much better deal at the COE cg's than I do at VA State Parks, & they don't have the stupid pet fee, and they are usually nicer cg's, plus they are all on the water.
