It is standard in many campgrounds, hotels, airlines, dentists, and other reservation based businesses. There are commercial trip insurance plans available at a modest cost for all types of vacations, these plans cover any non-refundable fee. We often purchase this type of coverage for air travel vacations. I believe FMCA and perhaps GS offer something like this also for RV travel. I empathies with your back pain, and you must admit that the facility tried by offering alternative dates. If you've been there before and had a wonderful time are you really going to let $200 keep you from "ever" go back and having a good time again. A tire failure on a trip would cost $600 or more. Again, empathy, but no sympathy.
Happy Trails.
