One time I lost out because my father died - didn't blame the CG. Lost out on another one time because my mother-n-law had emergency heart surgery - didn't blame the CG. One of them offered me to not lose it if I stayed with them within a certain time frame (they kept my money but sent me a voucher with an expiration date). Never got to use it - but that gesture was not in their policy, and was goodwill on their part, and I appreciated it. This place made the same goodwill gesture to you - above and beyond their policy.
