LVegas to Oregon via Nevada - parks?

One of my favorites is: Campground map You can either type in a town name or just zoom to the area you are interested in.

Another resource is: RVParky Just type in a town name and a list with map comes up. Unlike the above map, you have to type in each town name you are interested in rather than panning along your route.

For just public CG's and not the private ones, another resource is: USCampgrounds.info You can pan around the map and it will show USFS, USNPS, SP, and PP CG's.

On all of these, you can change the base map to other forms like terrain, satellite, or even topo in one case.

We have done Hwy 95 (nice little park in Crane, OR with a hot soaking natural pool)to OR26 at John Day (stayed at Clyde Holiday St. Rec Area)and then west on 26 and 126 to Eugene.

Hwy 95 to OR20 and then west of OR20 is a little more barren in our opinion.

Eugene: We like either Armitage or Richardson County Parks - huge treed spaces.

Although you stated you didn't want to drive in California a beautiful drive is up 395 and once into Oregon pick up OR31 to 97.

where in eugene are you staying we have lots of good rv parke here or close we live here and been to most of them if your going i5 seven feathers casino has a great one then its just 90 miles from eugene

This months Motorhome Magazine had a great article on Cathedral Gorge State Park. We have taken both 95 and 93 when we are coming up thru Nevada and love 93. We usually stay in Elko KOA but the next time we do this trip I'm going to try Cathedral Gorge. We take 93 up to Twin Falls and there is a nice overnight park called 93 I think, and then we cut west on Hwy 30 until it hits 84. 95 was okay but we just prefer the latter and we live near Seattle.

In one of their replies they said next spring. Depending upon how early you go Sunrise Valley RV park in Mina may not be open yet. Also to explore another part of NV on you way you may want to check out Hwy 93 and going into Idaho and from there into Oregon. So much to see in NV. Dick

thanks again for the replies .. Las Vegas to Eugene - no interest in driving in California so that's why asked about LVegas to Oregon via Nevada ..

Gotta get some real (vs internet) maps to sit down and look at that id cities so can figure out what cities would be good to stop at.

Here are some additional places between LV & Hawthorne. Casino has some RV sites in Tonopah abd the state rest area 13 miles north of Tonopah has a area for RVs to camp, in Mina there is Sunrise Valley RV park which is good for overnight and a nice RV park in Hawthorne Whiskey Flats, just north of the Safeway. Along Walker Lake there are dry camping areas, we like Sportsman Beach campground best. Over the years we have stayed at all of these.

I suggest you figure about what towns will be in the driving range and look up those towns on www.rvparkreviews.com and see if that meets your needs. For example on 95 in Mina is Sunrise Valley RV Park, we have stayed there and it is great for a nights stop. Also check the Good Sam web site for RV parks and campgrounds.
