If you do a search on Homeland Security and Lyndhurst you come up with not far off I-95 in Lyndhurst, a big office building for the USCIS (Immigration/Homeland Security). Might just be a case of being in the wrong spot at the wrong time. Someone mentioned maybe they were eating in the diner, might not be too far off the mark.

This is pretty much right across the river from NYC, not a bad place to be a bit paranoid.
