Madeline Island Wisc CG and ferry

It's been a number of years but we made the trip over on the ferry and then left the next day. At that time the only way to fill the water tank was from a hand pump at the water plant. The flys were so thick that you couldn't be outside. In fact, just getting to the ferry they totally covered the front of the trailer in fly goo. Never did get all the stains off. You could see them swarming up from the highway as you drove. Never seen anything like it. For some reason there was a couple of hours in the morning where they weren't too bad and there was a wonderful trail along the shore.
