Have you researched the area as to what you may want to see? Where you are at is well within day trips to Gatlinburg and Asheville. The Smoky Mountain National Park has hiking and plenty of waterfalls to see along with a mill and many log cabin homesteads. A must is Clingmans Dome although the observation tower is closing for renovation this week. Not sure how long it will be to reopen. Newfound Gap has a large parking lot and overlook worthy of a stop also.
Asheville has the Biltmore Estate that if you have never been its spectacular to see. Plan on spending the whole day there if you do. Its a pricey ticket though so if you are inclinded to see it buy in advance online for 10% savings. Look on their website.
The city of Waynesville is nice for just strolling and seeing what they have to offer. A couple nice restaurants there for a good lunch also. Maggie Valley has the Wheels Through Time muesum that has some cool old cars and motorcycles.
Cherokee has the Museum of the Cherokee Indian. Very interesting. Town itself if very touristy with trading post type stores. Harrah's operates a casino there too.
