In fact it is laid out in the directions you got from the mail service when you signed up for the service, and it is a requirement of the post office that they do so. A good reason to save the paperwork you get from the mail forwarding company.
You have to personally notify each company/individual of the change of address. If you do most of your things via the web, it really isn't hard to do.

Hi Barb,
Not clear on your post. We filled out the temporary card with dates etc. While we were on the road I'd just call the mail service tell them where we are and they would forward the mail. Little did we know about mail being returned to sender because it "was not to be forwarded". Then the sender apparently would see the mail service address and changed out home address to that address. I went to our local post office many times when we found that a company had changed our address.Talked to clerks and supervisors. What ever the po did they didn't seem to know what was done nor who did it.
So, It's great that some members have done the temp routine for many years....... We just got notified that a magazine subscription renewal had livingston tx as our address.
Being away for IRS time is not a comfortable time when on the road.
