We've never had a problem with USPS doing the 50/50 thing except for the above. Of all things it had to do with a third party co-pay bill on a X-ray read that occurred just prior to heading south. Six months later we find out we had a whole lot of nasty things coming from that unknown doctor's office. Took about an hour to straighten it all out over the phone.
Now we've learnt not to wait to the end of summer to get stuff done. About a month prior to departure we do all our dental and medical visits.
