Maine, Nova Scotia, PEI, Quebec in 2019

My husband will be retiring at the end of this year. We are planning our first retirement trip next summer to Maine (Acadia NP and possibly near Baxter SP), Nova Scotia, PEI, and Quebec.

We have a 40’ 5th wheel with 3 slides and a Chevy 3500 diesel longbed truck...we take up a lot of room!

I am looking for suggestions on campgrounds that can accommodate us...specifically near Baxter (Medway?), Nova Scotia, PEI, and Quebec. We have been to Acadia many times, but would welcome others thoughts on campgrounds there.

Also, I would welcome any suggestions on places to see in these areas and along the way...we don’t have a timeframe...just want to see what is there....

Thank you...

If you are doing Nova Scotia and PEI, go to Nova Scotia first and take ferry to PEI. Leave PEI on the Confederation Bridge. Since one doesn't pay to enter PEI, it is cheaper that way.

I don't get how it can be cheaper ! You pay the ferry to get to PEI and you pay the Confederation bridge on your way back !

We can't go that route without making a stop at Saint Andrews by the Sea and Kiwanis Ocean Front Campground at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy. A must see is Van Horn Estate on Minister Island. While in Saint Andrews by the Sea, we will take a day trip to Saint John.

In Nova Scotia, we love Cape Breton and stay at Broad Cove Campground

On PEI, we stay at Parks Canada Cavendish Campground. A big attraction in Cavendish is Green Gables Heritage Place.

  • We will be staying at Pine Grove CG in Medway, Camden Hills State Park, and Narrows Too CG in Trenton in late June/July. Those were my chooses after much research. This will be our first trip to New England.
