The NP was beautiful. Not very big rig friendly (not sure of your setup). And from the sounds of it- dry camping. But, it was beautiful and close to Mammoth Cave itself.
That said, being Thousand Trails members, we stayed just down the street at Diamond Caverns. Decent place- very RV park like but it was sufficient for what we needed (a 5-day stay where friends could pitch a tent behind the rig). We had a good time.
If anyone is considering it, don't waste your time or money at the restaurant at the hotel in Mammoth Cave. It was incredibly slow, terrible service, and crappy food.
