I think I'd rely on the National Park's answer if you called them rather than Yelp's.
You could also go to the reservation site and plug in your dates to see if anything is available.
There is also another campground for tents only in Crater Lake called Lost Creek. It opens around mid-July, has 16 sites and all are first come for $10.
