Medical insurance

Just wondering what others use for there medical insurance when heading south. I recently retired and my benefit package switched to a different carrier. I now have a 180 day stability period instead of 90 day. With me being a diabetic on oral meds I don't think a 180 day is going to work. Any suggestions from others . It's become mind boggling when you start looking
  • We use pacific blue cross ( thru former employer ), but it gets expensive if you have prior ailments. We pay for 90 of our 180 days of meds out of pocket, the other 90 days is covered. We have been I formed that Blue cross is the best insurer for Canadians as they underwrite many of the other plans. BTW how far south are you going? If to Mexico, medical expenses there are inexpensive, we use coverage " in case of emergency" while transiting thru the US.
