We stayed at Tom Sawyer CG. Getting there was kinda different (over hill and over dale) but, well worth. Very nice people, site and yes, saw many (HUGE) barges go by. We would definitely stay there again!
Yeaaah, should have mentioned the fact that it is a bit difficult to find but well worth it once your there. Directions don't seem to make a lot of sense until you've been there. Not hard to get to, just a bit out of the way.
Glad you enjoyed the park and,
Happy Camping! - Ryanjb01ExplorerWe stayed at the EZ Daze RV Park. Not much going on there, very quite and clean. Nice sites and a short drive to Memphis. Inexpensive too if I remember right.
Good luck,

To answer some questions of the different places we requested campground info about is easy. We are just traveling through these areas trying to get to No. Fort Meyers for January 1stish, 2017. We will be in Florida for two months, but this year we need to go from New Hampshire to St. Charles, MO first. The long way around. So, we thought we might stop in a couple other places after leaving St. Charles to get to Florida. - Turn_KeyExplorerTom Sawyer, as "Pulsar" said. We were there in October. Get a riverfront site (Concrete, Level, Pull-Thru, F/H, 50AMP, Cable). You can spend your time watching the barges going up and down river. Memphis is a short run from there.

We always stay at Tom Sawyer in West Memphis. It is safe plus it is nice to sit there on the Mississippi River watching all of the barges traveling up and down the river.
Stayed at Tom Sawyers for a week this past fall. Great location and very relaxing.
However their Wifi is a joke. Be prepared to have your own 4G access. - K_CharlesExplorerTom Sawyer is very close to Memphis but out of the way, quiet and a good place to relax by the river.
- Ed_CExplorerWe love Tom Sawyer

This is a great place about 15 or 20 miles south of Memphis.
