I originally bought a Class C when my children were small. Safety and accessibility during travelling were priorities and pretty much excluded anything but a MH - having to get everyone from the car to a TT in a dark parking lot and back to the car when we were ready to leave was NOT something I wanted to deal with. Not to mention having to stop every time someone needed to use the bathroom. The MH was perfect, they had a table to write or play games on, the bathroom was there to use, one parent could even make sandwiches for lunch while the other drove. When we pulled over to sleep, no need to get out of the MH and risk someone jumping out of the shadows. Even when in a park, if something happened and we needed to get out of there FAST, all I had to do was start it and drive. Electric cords and water hoses are replaceable, my children aren't. We didn't even take a toad, I never found using the MH (25' class C) around town a problem. It was also great for family drives, lots of windows and we could all ride together without being crammed. And there were SO many times when having everything accessible was priceless. When the freeway closed during a blizzard, we parked behind a gas station for a couple of days and were comfortable. The hotels were all full but what did we care? Driving home on that same trip, I-40 was closed for hours and we just sat there. I sent DH to the neighboring cars, offering the use of our bathroom, and several people were delighted to take us up on the offer.
As others have said, there is no right or wrong choice. But the MH is definitely my choice.
Now, the kids are grown, it's just my husband and me travelling, and I still find a MH suits my needs perfectly. If my back acts up on a long drive (as it usually does), DH can take over driving and I can lie down in a real bed. Fresh drinks, cold (or hot) snacks, a table to set up a laptop for the non-driving partner, of course the bathroom - all readily available.
