Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore - take a cruise by boat during the evening hours as the setting sun gives some spectacular colors. If you do any hiking in this area take the most potent bug repellant you can find.
Whitefish Point/Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum - yes.
Suggest also Tahquamenon Falls, accessible by car (north bank) in the state park or by 2 ft. gauge railroad and riverboat (pick up the Toonerville Trolley at Soo Junction).
Mackinac Island (we took our own bikes) also Mackinac Bridge.
Campgrounds - at Mackinac we used the KOA at St. Ignace. It was OK but there are better choices in the area. There is a KOA outside of Newberry we used when taking the train/boat to Tahquamenon Falls. They provided a free breakfast, cooked to order. For Pictured Rocks we used Wandering Wheels two miles outside of Munising. Many here use the Munising Tourist Park right in town.
Do find a place to dine on an authentic UP pastie (pronounced PASS-tee). Enjoy & safe travels.
