Moab RV parks + Ron's Pack Creek

We're looking for a park for about 4 nights next month in Moab, UT.

Ron's Pack Creek RV park Campground looks interesting. Anyone have any opinions about the place.

We travel w/ 2 dogs so I normally like a large (hi hi hi) parking spot.

Any recommendations for an RV park (w/ all the amenities) around Moab?

thanks for any input.
  • I'll be interested to see answer as I am also going to Moab in 2 weeks and in 4 weeks with 5th wheel toy hauler
  • If you do a search here, you'll find hundreds of posts on Moab including some on Pack Creek.

If you're planning on going in April, you'll find the week before Easter already booked solid for the Jeep Jamboree. In fact, for the more desirable CG's, you'll find most of April filled up already. We're probably heading there for a few days next week and will try to get one of the first come first served BLM sites. Since mid-March through mid-May is prime season, everyone seems to be there at once. Spring break and all fills everything.
  • I stayed at Ron's Pack Creek for a week a couple of years ago. I think it has changed ownership since then and the reports I've seen say the new owners are really fixing the place up. However, when I stayed there I found it pretty clean, friendly to people and dogs with good restrooms and laundry. There were some long term campers there, some good pull-thru spots, smaller spots for little rigs and places for tent campers. Overall I'd stay there again. The only thing that was a bit bothersome were the sandstorms caused by the winds, but that's common in Moab.

We stayed at Archview back in 2001 (it was a different name then I think). Real close to Arches NP entrance, and no problems there at all. It was a clean place.
  • We stayed at Riverside Oasis a couple of years ago and it was just fine.
  • We are currently at OK RV just outside Moab. Nice park, lots of space between sites and the rate is good - $19.50 with Passport America discount. We planned on 4 nights, have decided to extend for 2 more nights.
