Mohegan Sun in CT issue

We recently spent 2 days in the RV lot at Mohegan Sun in CT. While at the casino, our two Trek bicycles were stolen from the locked rack attached to our tow vehicle, and the toad was gouged and scratched in the process. We called security when we noticed the bikes missing as we were preparing to leave. The security camera in the lot is very far away from where we were parked, so they don't think they will find footage of the theft. I would note there are two decrepit motorhomes parked one in front and one behind us. The ppl appear to be living there. They would have had ample opportunity to observe out comings and goings to/from the casino, and it is my analysis that they had something to do with the theft. I don't know if we can recover any damages from our insurance, but we personally hold Mohegan Sun Casino liable and will see if we can file a claim with them. In the meantime, steer clear of MS rv lot!
  • Most of those lots have disclaimers. I can remember back in the 50s & 60s very few thefts while camping. Sure not like that today. Fortunately you were insured.
  • There are so many casinos with great RV parks why would you want to stay in a parking lot.
  • I spent almost a week in that lot a few years ago.....not because we couldn't afford a campground but mainly it provided a central location to explore. They encourage you to stay their and the views on the rail overlooking the river are great. I know during our stay, there was at least 30 or more rv's parked and security drove by often along with the shuttle every 20-30 minutes.
  • Try this new campground in RI called Ashaway RV resort. Not he best, but it works for the casinos and beaches.
