Montana Info

There are three couples headed to Montana in late June or July. This is the first trip for any of us to Montana. We all have 35 to 40' 5th wheels. We all play golf and enjoy fishing.

We are looking for nice campgrounds and attractions to give us a start on our planning.

Can anyone give us some recommendations of don't miss attractions?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Doug

  • Big Sky, Montana (south of Bozeman, on the road to West Yellowstone) has several golf courses. The Yellowstone Club and Spanish Peaks are both elite and private which means you will not get on unless you know some very rich and powerful people. Big Sky Resort, however has a very nice Arnold Palmer designed course open for public play. While it is not as spectacular as the private courses, it still is at 6500+ feet making for some long straight drives. It is located below Lone Peak, along the West Gallatin River. Good chance you will be sharing the course with some elk and bighorn sheep. It would be a good day trip during a Yellowstone Visit.

Tried that got a lot of information on Montana RV's. Thanks for the info.
  • Driving through Wyoming (someplace) I drove past a field that had 9 numbered flags stuck in the ground, but that was all. No clubhouse, no cars, no people. That's the only one I remember. LOTS of wheat fields, though.
  • Glacier National Park is certainly a place to not be missed. I think there is a golf course at the lodge on the east side of the park. But, I can't even imagine thinking about playing golf while visiting this wonder of nature.
