- JlsillitoesExplorerSome great tips here! Thank you.
- AllworthExplorer III would try to find a space in the long term area at Mountain Shadows.
We have stayed at all three (Shadows, KOA, & Express) and would always use Shadows unless we needed to be near the airport to get the grandson in and out; then Pony Express. - ken56ExplorerStayed at Mountain Shadows a couple years back and the site we had was a FHU pull through and the park is 50 amp service so you need a dog bone adapter if your rig is 30 amp. Sites are very tight in the transient area so you may have better luck for a longer term stay. Call them and ask some questions.
The KOA is nicer and fairly close to downtown whereas Mountain Shadows is a bit of a drive to downtown. - sp8goldExplorerThe last time we were there. We stayed at the KOA in order to be close to Temple Square. Right next door to the KOA was a large long term rv park. I inquired to the KOA staff and they said that both parks were owned by the same people. We enjoyed our stay at the KOA, don't know how it would be next door.
- kalynzooExplorerWe've visited Salt Lake City KOA twice, it is lovely and the staff is excellent. Adjacent is a very large long term campground, I believe operated by the same people. The roadways are adjoining. Give them a call.
- JlsillitoesExplorerThanks for the tip! Being next to an RV store would definitely be a plus, or at least a hardware store.
- boogie_4wheelExplorerI've driven through the Mountain Shadows park in Draper. It looks decent, and there are plenty of full-time residents by the looks of it. Dont know what the 'night life' is like though. It is right next to Camping World.
I live near the Pony Express. Very nice place; all pads are pull through and concrete. Gated entry. The downside is the price. Is walking distance to RV store if you need to fix anything. My parents have spent a few weekends here without complaints.
Those are the only two I'm familiar with. - Old-BiscuitExplorer III
