Went to the Caverns a month or so ago... the site we stayed on had full hookups..I think they all do now.. We really enjoyed it.. managed to get a cave tour with only 4 people (including me and DS) so it was almost like a private tour. Rented a canoe and paddled up the river a ways (river was high and fast so it was hard work).
Also drove over to Falling Waters park for the short hike to the falls..Since you are coming from the west, you may just want to stop on your way home.
Be sure you have lots of Bug Spray if you are going to be outside.. campground is in wooded area with slow creek around it.
