Monument Valley Tours

Headed to Monument Valley in September. There are a number of tours offered. How do they compare? Any recommendations? Thanks.
  • We stayed at Gouldings and took their tour as well, we felt it was well worth the money.

Stayed at the campground for Gouldings. Used their tour. They picked us up at the campground. It was great. Bring a ziplock bag for your camera. The fine red dust gets into everything. The indian tour is worth the price as you see so much more. Indian campground is now reopened...no better sunrise!

Bob, I have sent you a PM

  • Ditto on the self tour. It's a rough ride in some places, so don't be in a hurry. One BIG advantage of a self tour is your own climate - A/C and no dust. Those tour buggys are all open air, and there can be a lot of dust.

  • We did it with "self tour". Some places can only be visited via Indian tour guides but for the most part a self tour works..That way you can stay as long as you want at the various look outs. They recommended high clearance vehicles and we had our P/U but a whole lot of folks had just standard vehicles and did not have any problems at all....Good Luck
  • We stayed in Goulding's RV Park and used their tour. It was just fine.
