- garyhauptExplorerFunny how different people see the same things differently. I have driven all my life, professionally, so there is the thing, I guess, but I would drive an A up or down the 'hill'. They also run OTR tractor/trailer units both ways on there.
Truck going down...good tunes too.

As far as VOG? Not a freakin chance would I take anything that didn't have just a bunch of clearance. You get hung up in there and you are in for an expensive recovery. On top of that...a person might get in and camped up, then a flash flood rip down that wash you drove thru..and now it's a completely different animal.

Gary Haupt - profdant139Explorer III am not sure I would take a big rig into VOG without scouting -- depending on the time of year and the grading of the road, there can be some fairly steep little ditches across the roadway. You probably would not get stuck, but the back end could hit or drag. But no problem -- the commute from the Goosenecks into VOG with the toad is very short and easy.
- Windwalker55ExplorerWith your unit I'd stick with Valley of the Gods. Some excellent places to pull off and camp. It is a BLM area that is below Muley Point. If you have a toad you will want to drive up to Muley Point, it is breath taking.
Here is a link to a good Valley of the Gods resource page.
Valley of the Gods
You don't want to drive your motorhome up or down Moki Dugway, that would be insane. If you don't have a toad though you can drive around to Muley Point by taking 163 east to 191 north to 95 west and then 261 south to the Muley Point turn off. The road to Muley Point is rough though.

Have fun, it is beautiful country. - SuzzeeeQ2012Explorerwill do :)
- tuna_fisherExplorerWouldn't try VOG in your unit, or Muley point for that matter. Stick to Goosenecks.
- SuzzeeeQ2012Explorercool :) we will be driving to it definitely.
good to know about the campgrounds :) - profdant139Explorer IISuzzee, big rigs are just fine at Goosenecks, assuming you can tolerate the "commute" to MV in your toad. If you go onto Google Earth, you can see a large level pad southeast of the bathroom. Lots of room! Watch out for the wind, though -- you might not want to deploy your awning . . . .
- SuzzeeeQ2012Explorerthanks :)
we're a long rig...about 60' altogether. That limits us a bit.
thank you for the information :) - johnnaExplorerValley of the Gods. About 30 miles north of Monument Valley.
- profdant139Explorer IIGoosenecks is quite close to MV as the crow flies:
This shot is taken from Muley Point -- Goosenecks is (are?) on the edge of the canyon in the foreground, with MV in the background.
But since we are not crows and can't fly, the drive took us quite a while -- maybe 45 min.??
