Monument Valley

Looking to meet friends in Monument Valley Park later this fall (Oct.). Need a RV park close by with full hook ups if possible. Our coach is 40 foot and the other coaches are 38 and 36 foot. Thanks

  • Definitely Gouldings if you want to be close. That's where we stayed. Their electricity was spotty at the time though. There is also Bluff, UT, that has several RV parks. It's 25 miles away, about.

We stayed at Gouldings last August. We were in a 43ft MH towing a pickup and had no issues with getting into and out of the site. FHU/50 amp.
We took the tour that leaves the CG and enjoyed the sites and our guide's commentary .
  • Stayed at Gouldings in late Sept. 2014 and park was quite busy. Nice park but I would definitely make reservations.

You should take the tour but be forewarned there are a lot of long stops to give you the opportunity to buy jewellry. You will also have to pay a park admission fee as it is not part of the National Park System so passes are no good.
  • The View Campground has the best scenic views you will find. No hookups but even one night is worth the view. Gouldings is a nice campground. By all means take the guided tour. Put your camera in a zip-lock bag as the fine red dust gets into everything!
  • Gouldings is the only game in town - well, almost. There is a tribal CG just inside the entrance to Monument Valley which has no shade; not sure about what hookups they have (but I think none). Gouldings is pretty nice, actually, and has space for large rigs, but you WILL need advance reservations. The CG is part of a larger complex (hotel, restaurant, gas station, grocery store). Definitely recommend the guided tours of MV; you can reserve ahead through the CG and they pick up right there. Guides are Navajo from the area. We really enjoyed ours.

Despite being part of the large complex, the CG is off by itself in a pretty, red-rock canyon; some sites have a little shade, as there are some trees in the CG.
